We all know the mass hysteria that surrounds the Twilight star Robert Pattinson with millions of gals screaming after him and carrying placards like ‘Marry me, Edward’. Now, the latest sensation to grip the globe is the teen boy Justin Bieber. At 16, the pocket sized singer has cultivated some eyebrow raising fan following.

1. Stampede in Australia- On 26th April, 2010, a stampede broke out in Australia during one of Justin’s concerts and 8 teenagers (most of his fans are in their teens) were hospitalised with injuries. In fact, such was the chaos that broke out that Justin had to cancel the gig which resulted in ‘more than 100 teens’ becoming ‘distressed’. Later, an upset Justin tweeted, “I want to sing for my fans. I want to make this clear… I don’t cancel… I woke up this morning to the police cancelling (sic) the show for safety reasons.”

2. Overnight camping in Sydney- For the same concert, that was to take place on Monday, a tsunami of fans congregated at the Sydney Harbour and some even spent the Sunday night there to wait for Monday.

3. Mother knocked down- Two days later, in New Zealand, Justin was once again mobbed and this time his poor mother was knocked down by the volcanic fans. Thankfully, she escaped unscathed. But, with the google and other search engines reporting a skyrocketing surge in Justin’s popularity, it can be speculated if he is en route to becoming the next Robert Pattinson.
